In this role, you will:
- Work with the Naval Systems Program Manager to plan and execute the delivery of Platform and Combat systems engineering support activities in accordance with the Victoria In-Service Support Contract (VISSC) Performance Work Statement
- Help drive risk-based sustainment activities in support of Director General, Maritime Equipment Program Management (DGMEPM), Submarines (SM) Platform and Combat Systems Section Heads to enable effective management of critical equipment and system capabilities
- Provide support and direction to the Babcock sustainment projects delivery teams to ensure the day-to-day execution of Babcock’s engineering support function delivers to a standard that meets or exceeds the requirements of the VISSC and is aligned with DGMEPM(SM) program priorities
- Provide support to business development activities as required to support achieving Marine strategic objectives
- Support in the effective management of the resources allocated to sustainment projects in our matrix organisation, influencing and leading team members
- Determine appropriate governance arrangements including identification and monitoring of risks, planning, and implementing responses to these
- Build consensus among cross-functional team members and balance multiple, concurrent priorities
- Work closely and collaboratively with government and non-government stakeholders, managing geographically dispersed relationships
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Engineering, Commercial, Finance and Supply Chain to resolve a range of complex issues and identify external dependencies
- Be adept at presenting detailed information concisely and appropriately tailored to various audiences
- Work independently, demonstrate initiative, and exercise superior judgement in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
The ideal candidate brings:
- You have a recognized University Degree or College diploma in Engineering, Project Management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- You have 8 plus years’ experience in successfully managing projects with multiple stakeholders, preferably within the Naval or Marine sector
- You have a working knowledge of DGMEPM (SM) Sustainment Operations
- You are a positive, resilient, and focused individual
- You have excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
