In this role, you will:

 

  • Prepare cost reports to enable cost tracking throughout the project life cycle
  • Review control account cost reports to facilitate monthly Estimate to Completion (ETC) forecasting process
  • Update the Estimate at Completion (EAC) at the end of every monthly reporting period
  • Review project cost reports with stakeholders
  • Communicate with Change Management to:
    • Update and maintain the change request financial database 
    • Check change requests for compliance corporate accounting conventions (i.e. rates, percentage uplifts, direct and indirect charges, etc.)
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to maintain accurate cost forecasts
  • Manage booking codes for assigned projects
  • Validate subcontractor invoices against Purchase Orders
  • Prepare reports, such as production headcount graphs, monthly progress reports, etc.)
  • Assist and support monthly invoicing and period end processes to maintain regular billing
  • Liaise with the Scheduling team to align cost breakdown structures with project requirements
  • Assist in preparing cost control procedures with an emphasis on continuous improvement
  • Other duties as assigned

 

As our ideal candidate, you:

 

  • Have at least one year of experience in a cost control position 
  • Have a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or a suitable combination of qualifications and experience
  • Are a member of or are registered with an appropriate Professional body, such as the Project Management Institute (PMI) (considered an asset)
  • Are proficient in Microsoft Office products, in particular Microsoft Excel, in which you will have intermediate to advanced skills
  • Have strong analytical skills
  • Have excellent organization skills and are detail-oriented
  • Have proven interpersonal skills
