In this role, you will:

 

  • Act as the Government Security subject matter expert, specifically for Contract Security and Controlled Goods programs
  • Provide completion of CGP exemptions for visitors and temporary workers
  • Support and assist with implementation of new physical security systems
  • Maintain facility alarm system user codes; adding/removing user codes, modifications if required
  • Program staff access cards for various areas of company buildings
  • Ensure positive maintenance of facility keys for critical information assets, office doors, secure rooms, and security locking containers.
  • Perform building sweeps for unattended critical information assets
  • Assist the Security Manager in monitoring and approval of workflow requests for virtual data
  • Performs security assessments for new hires commencing employment and advise the business of the results
  • Implement recommendations from internal IA Health Checks; analyze and close gaps in health check assessments
  • Host external agencies performing security audits and inspections (corporate or government)
  • Create, maintain, and refresh training packs for Information Asset Owners
  • Provide support to the Information Asset Owners with departmental activities and ensure positive record of access by users (i.e. joiners, movers, leavers)
  • Support the Corporate Risk and Quality department in the maintenance of Business Continuity Plans and appendices for the Victoria office
  • Complete outbound visit clearance requests for the industrial security program
  • Update the Business Impact Assessment, Risk register, and SCP strategy document
  • Maintain IAMMs documentation including evidence binder information
  • Assist with the development of security policies, procedures or security management plans
  • Assess security threats and risks associated with said plans
  • Liaise with public First Responders to keep abreast of changing response methods
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 As our ideal candidate,

 

  • You hold a post-secondary education in Security Management from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • You have 5 years’ of experience working within the Industrial Security Program and the Controlled Goods Program
  • You have 3 years’ of experience working within a Corporate Security Program.
  • You have extensive knowledge of Physical Security systems (Card access, CCTV, & alarm systems) and management of online security systems
  • You have intermediate experience writing security and/or emergency incident reports
  • You have knowledge of emergency management, conducting security related investigations, conducting business continuity program exercises.
  • You have working knowledge of establishing or maintaining business continuity programs, principles for information & cyber security as an asset
  • You are eligible for a Canadian NATO Secret Security Clearance, ITAR and Controlled Goods.
