The role

As a Supply Chain Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You'll play a vital role in supporting the operational readiness of military vehicles used across the defence sector. This is a unique engineering support position where you'll combine technical expertise with problem-solving skills to tackle supply chain challenges, manage obsolescence, and ensure critical equipment remains available throughout its lifecycle.

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

• Reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to support engineering decisions.
• Investigating obsolete parts, materials, and components, identifying suitable compliant alternatives.
• Providing technical guidance to procurement and supply chain teams on engineering requirements.
• Collaborating with suppliers, engineers, and stakeholders to manage risks and maintain technical compliance.
• Maintaining accurate technical records and supporting lifecycle management activities for military vehicle fleets.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Donnington.

Essential experience of the Supply Chain Engineer

• Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience applying engineering standards and specifications.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering materials.
• Strong technical investigation and problem-solving capability.
• Ability to analyse technical information and make sound engineering decisions.

Qualifications for the Supply Chain Engineer

• Level 3 qualification in an Engineering discipline, such as an NVQ, BTEC, Intermediate Apprenticeship, or equivalent engineering workplace experience.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
