Defence Equipment
The Repair Manager role is based within our Defence Equipment business area.

Defence equipment stores, maintains, repairs and overhauls military vehicles and equipment so the UK army is able to train and deploy in a moment. As well as supporting vehicles that are already in service, the team carries out vehicle assembly integration and tests new vehicles.


The role

The difference our new Repair Manager will make, As a Repair Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be Responsible for the Project Management of engineering support of designated mechanical/electronic/electrical systems and assemblies. Establishing the present and future global workload. Allocating the work and, for the in-year load monitoring progress and ensure the successful fulfilment of customer requirements.


To ensure the work is completed to all the required standards and within the delegated financial authority. The initiation of the technical evaluation of contracts and their management to completion. Ensuring correct delivery timescales, best value for money and strict control of funds allocated. To support the parent Project Team regarding and PQAO and QAR activities as appropriate, as described in DLE BPIs in order to assist in identifying and addressing technical risks.


Day to day, you’ll be Commercial / Customer supply facing. You will be with a Team of 10 repair managers working with a team of 12 repair provisioners. You will be involved in the Management of an annual plan – manage the portfolio with the Army’s repair plan. Managing the repair of large assets on behalf of the MOD. You will also Manage with external suppliers the repair of electrical boxes, Engines, Transmissions, Hydraulics, fire Suppression etc. Also, the Management of customer expectations and meeting the SLAs. You will also be Producing monthly reporting to manager and customer. Lastly the Movement of assets to and from the suppliers

Essential experience
•    SAP – desirable 
•    Proficient in Excel 
•    Excellent Verbal and Written 
•    Ex-service background is ideal as they understand the equipment and lingo 
•    Technical Background 
•    Automotive Background ideal 
•    Engineering qualification essential 
•    Driving license essential 
•    Some travel required to meet suppliers – Pool car available


SC security clearance required.
