The role
As an Equipment Repair Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be responsible and accountable for the maintenance and repair element of both the Field Electrical Power Supplies (FEPS) and Tactical Power Support (TPS) support contracts. 

 

Day-to-day, you’ll challenge the business approach whilst providing a business output oversight and control for the Deployable Power to the Operational Infrastructure Programmes desired levels of service delivery, therefore, effectively satisfying all contractual deliverables.

 

  • Responsible for the delivery of the Deployable Power maintenance and repair planning and activity in line with key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Ensuring proposed amendments to delivery plans are reviewed and agreed prior to acceptance whilst managing and prioritising resource allocation 
  • Implement performance improvements against targets and flow down to Supervisors 
  • Leading improvement or recovery plans for failing maintenance and repair plans 


This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Donnington.

 

Essential experience of the Equipment Repair Manager - Field Electrical Power Supplies:

  • Management of workshop or management of an engineering background
  • Leadership and mentoring experience including but not only staff development
  • Developing continuous improvement plan whilst working in an environment where flexibility and adaptability is required. 
  • Evidence of having the ability to multitask and make rational decisions based on information available
  • Experienced or competent user in systems used for fleet management (e.g., SAP, IFS, JAMES)

 

Qualifications for the Equipment Repair Manager - Field Electrical Power Supplies:

  • Educated to Level 3 in National Qualification Framework (NQF) as a minimum (Higher apprenticeship, ONC, Level 3 NVQ) or equivalent workplace experience
  • Completed relevant managerial Health and Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH, British Safety Council)
  • Completed relevant management development courses
