About the Role


Babcock is excited to announce a great opportunity for a Category Specialist to join our team, focusing on our Air and Land portfolios. This role can be based in Adelaide, Melbourne, or Sydney, offering flexibility and the chance to work within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
 

As a Category Specialist, you’ll work closely with key stakeholders to understand business needs and develop innovative sourcing strategies tailored to the Air and Land portfolios. Your role will be pivotal in driving value, managing supplier performance, and fostering strong relationships with suppliers, including SMEs, Indigenous businesses, veteran-owned enterprises, and women-owned businesses.
 

You’ll lead end-to-end sourcing activities, ensuring alignment with category and business objectives, while playing a key role in driving operational efficiencies and delivering impactful outcomes. With a focus on excellence, you’ll also help shape category strategies that meet compliance standards and align with Babcock’s overarching goals.

To be successful, you will bring:
 

  • Australian Citizen with a Defence security clearance.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Graduate Certificate or Degree in a business, procurement, or supply chain related discipline.
  • Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Membership level or studying towards or Australian Supply Chain Institute (ASCI) Certified Course or working towards.
