The Role
As a Satellite Ground Station Team Lead, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. As a Satellite Ground Station Team Lead, you’ll have a role that is out of the ordinary, working on the Skynet contract managing the team operations.

 

Day-to-day, as an active member of the Technical Infrastructure team, you will be reporting into the Operations Manager, responsible for the implementation of the service delivery wrap into the ground station.

 

  • To be the on-site lead for all problem reporting and 1st /2nd Line rectification work in support of Network Operations. 
  • Monitor and control the communications systems in use in support of Skynet 5.
  • Ensure all planned maintenance activities have appropriate approvals in place before allowing them to proceed.
  • Coordination of Technical Infrastructure inputs to customer facing reviews and meetings and the coordination of inputs and outputs for internal and external audits to Infrastructure.
  • Ensure all Maintenance and Support tasks are conducted in accordance with the Statement of Work specified performance criteria and are recorded appropriately.

 

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Colerne.


Essential Experience of the Satellite Ground Station Team Lead

  • Thorough engineering knowledge of the Satellite Military and Commercial Network architecture.
  • Thorough knowledge of digital data communications, techniques and protocols.
  • Thorough knowledge of Crypto Management procedures and the control of Crypto devices.
  • IT literate on MS Office applications to include Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.

 

Qualifications for the Satellite Ground Station Team Lead

  • Higher National Certificate (HNC)/ Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electronics or equivalent qualification or experience.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
