The Role
As a Radio Frequency Systems Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. In this role you will have the opportunity to be part of a fast-paced moving programme with respect to the Skynet service delivery wrap that is being produced by Babcock.

 

Day-to-day, you will assist in the operation and continuous improvement of Radio Frequency and Intermediate Frequency Systems.

 

  • The design, maintenance and operation of Radio and Intermediate Frequency systems architecture.
  • Overseeing the purchase and installation of Radio Frequency Chain equipment.
  • System Test and Commissioning.
  • Providing support to the new service design process.
  • Specifying, purchasing and testing of (Very Small Aperture Terminal) VSAT terminals and other Satcom equipment, to support the delivery of new services.

 

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home.

 

Essential Experience of the Radio Frequency Systems Engineer

  • Previous experience with a satellite network operator or deployment partner.
  • Current knowledge of Radio Frequency and Intermediate Frequency architecture and design best practice.
  • Satellite network system design, test and support experience.
  • An understanding of Radio Frequency hazards and associated safe working practices.
  • Expert level knowledge of at least one of the following areas: L Band IF, Modems, Amplifiers, antenna control systems.


Qualifications for the Radio Frequency Systems Engineer 

  • Degree, or Higher National Certificates (HNCs) or Higher National Diplomas (HNDs) with equivalent experience, in a relevant engineering subject.

 

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a SOLE UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. However, the successful candidate must also be able to achieve Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance once in post.
