The role
As a Supplier Quality Specialist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is an exciting role within the Babcock International Group Supply Chain Quality team, which forms a key part of the Group Procurement & Supply Chain Assurance function. This role supports the maintenance and continuous improvement of the global approach to Supply Chain Quality Assurance, both within the UK and internationally.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible to Principal Supplier Quality Specialist, the Supplier Quality Specialist will support supply chain Quality Assurance activities across Babcock’s Nuclear, Marine, Land & Mission Systems sectors.

  • Monitoring the performance of our processes and arrangements to ensure they meet our desired outcomes including maintenance of the tools and systems used to record supplier engagements (training will be provided)
  • Supporting the supplier quality defect management process, including investigation, supplier engagement and resolution of issues
  • Supporting the performance monitoring and management of suppliers through the collation and analysis of performance data to aid in our risk-based approach to supplier engagement
  • Supporting the function in the onboarding of new suppliers through the review of all new supplier requests against defined decision criteria
  • Undertaking reviews of key certification and supporting in Special Process Approval

 

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with occasional travel to various Babcock sites and supplier premises.

 

Essential experience of the Supplier Quality Specialist:

  • Awareness of Quality Assurance and Control
  • Confident and competent in engaging with stakeholders
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to present findings to small groups
  • Computer literate with good capabilities in the use of standard Microsoft Office applications, (including Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Experienced in business systems and processes

 

Qualifications for the Supplier Quality Specialist:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent within a STEM subject.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
     

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
