The role
As a Flying Grading Instructor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will support candidates at Middle Wallop or RNAS Yeovilton aspiring to become the next generation of Apache, Wildcat, Merlin, or F-35 pilots. You will be directly involved in their flying grading on the Babcock Grob 115E Tutor aircraft.


Day-to-day you’ll be required to: 

  • Carry out one to one Flying training briefings and flights.
  • Complete end of course reports and staff continuation training requirements.
  • Actively encourage and maintain a culture of military ethos throughout 6 FTS and the Royal Navy embracing the Student Care Directives.
  • Maintain the highest level of safety and quality.
  • Ensure that all communication, documentation, and typed material is of the required standard.


This role is full time, working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday 0800-1700, and is based at Middle Wallop or RNAS Yeovilton.

 

Essential experience of the Flying Grading Instructor:

  • Previous military flying experience (QFI would be advantageous) or extensive experience in civilian flying training/ examining.

 

Qualifications for the Flying Grading Instructor:

  • Hold or have held a CPL with IR (FI preferred) 
  • Hold Unrestricted UK CAA Class 1 Medical


Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a valid UK passport holder, with the ability to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
