The role
As an Aircraft Inspector, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Reporting to the Site Operations Manager (SOM) the Aircraft Inspector is to ensure all aircraft engineering, line and depth maintenance and all other engineering related activities and services are provided as required to always meet or exceed customer expectations and LAFT2 contractual needs. 


Day-to-day, you will supervise and carry out Flight-line operations i.e., Preparation of aircraft for daily flying, “see-in” and “see-off”, fuel and oil replenishment. Daily Check A maintenance, as well as:

  • Undertake and supervise scheduled and corrective maintenance of the LAFT Aircraft fleet.
  • Pre-use checks and Scheduled Maintenance of Company owned Ground Support Equipment.
  • General duties as required, including, driving, stores duties, housekeeping etc., and other responsibilities as allocated by Management.
  • Complete all aircraft and equipment maintenance documentation in accordance with current legislation and Company procedures.
  • This role is full time and based onsite at Middle Wallop, however the company may, on occasion, ask you to deploy temporarily to other sites or support detachments at other operating locations.


Essential experience of the Aircraft Inspector:

  • Previous Supervisory experience in carrying out Flight-line operations in accordance with company procedures. in an aircraft engineering environment
  • Ability to demonstrate practical and theoretical standards required with Aircraft engineering experience

Qualifications for the Aircraft Inspector:

  • Recognised Aircraft Apprenticeship, Military experience or NVQ level 3 or equivalent
  • Driving Licence
  • Grob 115E Experience Desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Licenced B1.2 aircraft engineer desirable.
  • Grob 115 E Handling Course. Desirable

Security Clearance

  • The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain DBS Clearance.
