About the role

Here at Babcock International we’re looking to recruit a Part Time Media Assistant.

You will work as part of a team delivering a variety of media tasks supporting graphics, photography and reprographics.

 

  • Assist graphic designers with business graphics and certificates, with some understanding of professional design and layout
  • Assist photographers by capturing unit identity photos, printing images onto suitable paper
  • Downloading or importing digital files or scanned images into a computer, recording meta data and archiving graphic/photographic images or e-mailing them to the customer
  • Use specialised software to crop, resize and colour correct the images where necessary
  • Use photocopying machines and digital printers to copy and bind a range of printed materials
  • Print finish, by binding, laminating and precision cutting using equipment to cut and mount prints
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance and cleaning making sure machines have suitable levels of materials, inks, chemicals and toners etc.

 

What do I need to do the role?

You’ll need a minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a Media related subject, Demonstrable experience in Graphics, Photography, Digital Printing and Finishing, strong IT skills - Microsoft Word and Excel and work flexibly up to 20 hours per week to suit business needs.

What else do I need to know?

  • The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
