About the role

Here at Babcock International we’re looking to recruit a Head of Aircraft Maintenance.

You will be responsible to the Contract Manager – Tutor and the Accountable Manager, via the General Manager – Training Aircraft, for ensuring the satisfactory completion and certification of all engineering maintenance requirements to support the Babcock fleet of Grob G115E aircraft.  One of the main parts of your role will be that you’ll be responsible for ensuring that the organisation’s maintenance policies and procedures are complied with when carrying out all maintenance to the fleet of aircraft and support equipment.

You’ll also be responsible to setting the training standards and technical competency requirements for all engineering positions.  In order to assure confidence that the staff are Suitably Qualified Experienced Personnel (SQEP), you will run a dynamic assessment of the suitability of the engineering staff against their individual role profiles.  Where there are gaps or deficiencies, you will develop, in conjunction with the Head of Ops, a training strategy programme to ensure staffs are qualified for the role.  The training plan is to link to the Babcock training team.

We also require you to ensure that controls/processes are in place to maintain, update and control all maintenance documentation required to maintain the Grob G115E fleet.

Another big part of your role will be to ensure that the Licensed Aircraft Engineer’s training packages are suitable and compliant with EASA regulations, parity of engineering judgement across the sites, while also providing leadership, advice and guidance based on their experience and also the leading engineering advice and guide.

What do I need to do the role?

You’ll need Aircraft Engineering Management experience and Grob G115E engineering experience.

Would also like you to have the following:

  • CAA Form 4 holder
  • EASA Part 66 type rated licence for Grob 115 aircraft
  • EASA Part 145 and Part M experience
  • RAF Level K authorisation holder
  • Rusada (RAL) database operation
  • Project Management and planning

What else do I need to know?

  • All applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK and be subject to satisfactory security clearance which includes 3 years reference checks. Verification of any qualifications/passport/licences must be shown at interview stage.
