Air Traffic Control Instructor

About the role

Here at Babcock International we’re looking to recruit an Air Traffic Control Instructor. You’ll be responsible to the Defence College of Air and Space for training, developing and preparing future Air Ops (Control) personnel.


Main Tasks:
• Acting in accordance with the RAF Shawbury Supervisory Care Directive.
• Training ab-initio RAF, RN and F & C military trainees for Terminal ATC duties using the simulator facilities provided.
• Training RAF, RN and F & C military trainees for Area Radar duties using the simulator facilities provided (subject to Area Radar experience).
• Providing refresher training for controllers who have been away from either the Terminal or Area Radar disciplines for an extended period.
• Producing written reports with associated grading/scores to reflect the trainees’ performances.


This role is 40 hours per week.


What do I need to do the role?

You’ll need to be qualified in accordance with JSP 822.


Would also like you to hold experience in all or some of the following:
• DTTT Course.
• Experience of providing terminal Air Traffic Services in UK Airspace under MAA 3000 Series regulation.
• Experience of providing area Air Traffic Services in UK Airspace under MAA 3000 Series regulation.
• Recent trainer experience in an ATC training environment that is acceptable to the Authority. 


What else do I need to know?
• The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
