The role
As a Facility Maintenance Assistant, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Supporting the site supervisory team as part of the multi-skilled team delivering a wide range of hard and soft Facilities Management support to Babcock properties.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks as required, as well as:

  • Use appropriate tools and equipment in a safe manner in order not to harm user or others
  • Report issues in an agreed prompt manner to the site supervisory team
  • The limited use of a computer for emails and to upload work, (training will be given)
  • Carry out inspections on equipment to ensure it is serviceable and compliant
  • Help to maintain the buildings to current legislation and ensure a safe working environment

 

This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.

 

This role is full time, 40 hours per week and is based on site at our RAF Shawbury site.

 

Essential experience of the Facility Maintenance Assistant

  • Basic DIY skills and in-depth understanding of maintenance procedures
  • Problem-solving skills for addressing safety and maintenance concerns
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for giving instructions to contractors
  • Organisation, multi-tasking, and scheduling skills
  • Full UK driving licence

 

Qualifications for the Facility Maintenance Assistant

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
