About the role 

Here at Cavendish Nuclear we are looking to recruit 4 x technician/ craftsperson with Electrical Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) bias to join our radiometric instrument maintenance personnel based at Sellafield in Cumbria.

The work is predominantly on Radiation Protection Instrumentation (RPI) and includes extensive use of electronic and nucleonic diagnostic and repair skills. The key responsibilities of the role include; workshop, fault-finding and repairs to component level; responding to instrument breakdowns and performing routine equipment performance checks to on plant RPI. 


You will liaise with key stakeholders such as EDF system owners, operations, maintenance, suppliers and other site contractors.  Co-ordinate interactions between implementation team, designers, project personnel and the client to ensure the flow of relevant information.

What do I need to do the role?

To be considered for the role you should be from an electrical/instrumentation or electronics background and have appropriate skills and experience supported by a relevant apprenticeship or equivalent training programme and qualifications. 

You should have experience in working to exact instructions, and possess good diagnostic abilities. Knowledge of ionising radiation detection principles and practice, and associated analogue and digital signal processing techniques would be an advantage; however, specialist training will be given where necessary. 


Academic Requirements:
-    Apprenticeship or equivalent training in Electronic / Electrical / Instrumentation technology fields.
-    Five GCSE or equivalent (at Grade C or above) including English, a Science subject and Maths at a minimum of Grade B.

What else do I need to know?

Successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role which will be at Developed Vetting level.
