The role

As a Telematics Solutions Lead, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You'll play a strategically significant role within the LIOS (Land Integrated Operating Services) transformation programme, helping to redefine how military assets are monitored, managed and supported across the future Army fleet. This is a unique opportunity to influence the development of cutting-edge telematics, connected asset technologies and data-driven maintenance solutions that will improve asset availability, operational readiness and decision-making on a national scale.

Day-to-day, you'll be required to:

• Defining how telematics and connected asset technologies are deployed across the future LIOS environment.
• Identifying opportunities to improve asset availability, readiness and maintenance performance through data exploitation.
• Shaping future asset management and fleet support operating models using telematics and digital solutions.
• Collaborating with technical, operational and customer stakeholders to understand challenges and future requirements.
• Producing strategic recommendations, solution roadmaps and solution designs that influence future military support capabilities.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.

Essential experience of the Telematics Solutions Lead

• Demonstrable experience within telematics, connected assets, fleet intelligence, asset monitoring or Internet of Things enabled environments.
• Strong understanding of asset management, fleet management, maintenance, reliability or operational performance within asset-intensive industries.
• Experience developing strategic solutions, operating models or transformation programmes that improve business and operational performance.
• Proven ability to engage, influence and build relationships with senior stakeholders across multiple disciplines.
• Experience working within defence, aerospace, rail, utilities, automotive, maritime, logistics or similarly complex operational environments.

Qualifications for the Telematics Solutions Lead

• Degree qualified in Engineering, Asset Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline.
• Professional accreditation in Asset Management, Engineering, Project Management or Systems Engineering (such as IAM, IEng, CEng, CILT or APM) – desirable
• Knowledge of asset management frameworks, including ISO 55000, predictive maintenance or condition-based maintenance principles – desirable
• Experience of telematics, connected asset technologies, digital asset management solutions or fleet management platforms – desirable

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
