The role
As a Production Planner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be responsible for planning in maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) activity on a military platform, and sub-components repair activity, achieved by coordinating activity across multiple teams to ensure the work is completed on time.
Day-to-day, you’ll plan in MRO activity based on capacity, capability and material availability. Where applicable expedite resource availability, suitably qualified and experienced person (SQEP), and material shortfalls to meet both the customer and business priorities.
- Respond to new demands promptly and efficiently, creating plans for production from customer demands
- Ensure amendments to plans are not implemented until checks of capability, capacity and materials have been factored in
- Develop excellent and effective communication lines with the Supply Chain, Engineer, and Operations teams
- Ensure all job pack documentation for processes conducted is completed and shared
- Flex and prioritise work tasks in the plan to ensure vehicle output volumes are maintained and ensure timely escalation of likely failures
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days in the office/onsite and days working from home.
Essential experience of the Production Planner:
- Experienced or competent user in scheduling within an ERP system e.g. SAP
- Experience working with and analysing large amounts of data
- Experience working with and creating internal and contractual performance metrics
- An understanding of the planning cycle in an MRO environment, both Material and Resource
