The role
As a Director of Operations Support, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) of the Through Life Equipment Support (TLES) business. Reporting directly to the Managing Director (MD) of TLES, this executive role is responsible for overseeing daily operations support across all TLES contracts.
Day-to-day, you’ll collaborate with the TLES SLT to define and execute the company's strategic vision and long-term growth objectives. Your primary responsibility is to lead all operations support functions, ensuring the efficient, effective and compliant delivery of services. You’ll also:
- Develop, Own and deliver the Operations Support Strategy to support and improve current contract delivery and support securing new opportunities.
- Develop and refine Governance and ways of working for the Operations Support Team to ensure optimal outcomes
- Provide leadership and coordinate resource allocation to operational support functions
- Act as the functional lead for operational support resource requirements, working closely with Contract Directors and functional leads to forecast and deliver contractual requirements, making decisions about shifting resources as needed
- Collaborate with the TLES HR Director to align the Operations Support strategy with the People Strategy
Please note that this position involves travel/working across a range of internal and customer sites, as a requirement of the role.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and requires regular travel across a range of internal and customer sites on a weekly / monthly basis alongside home working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Director of Operations Support:
- Exceptional leadership skills: able to proactively manage performance and build a high-performance culture both within their direct team and colleagues.
- Exceptional commercial awareness: ability to identify and manage commercial risk in both the supply chain, customer interface, and across contracts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to flex style to engage and influence people from all levels
