The role
As an Assistant Management Accountant, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be part of our Project Finance team within our Land sector supporting the contract operational team.
Day-to-day, you’ll will liaise with the Finance / Contract team to assist with all management reporting, this includes management accounts, forecasts, budgets, contract reporting strategic plans, pricing activities, amongst supporting the invoicing process and KPI information and with any ad-hoc reporting request.
- Provision of financial input into the month end process
- Preparation of journal inputs and balance sheet reconciliations
- Variance analysis for contract including variances against budget, forecast and monthly fluctuations.
- Assist with Internal and External audit requests for contract specific queries.
- Preparation/calculation of sales invoicing
- Support in pricing activities of the contract.
- Financial KPI reporting
- Business Partnering
This role is part time, 30 hours per week and is based at our Andover hub offering a flexible hybrid working arrangement.
Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Essential experience of the Assistant Management Accountant
- Proficient user of Microsoft Excel, (e.g. V-lookups and Pivot Tables)
- Experience of ERP systems and financial reporting tools
- Ability to ensure deadlines and targets are achieved or surpassed
- Strong interpersonal skills including effective communication skills for interacting with the customer and Babcock senior leadership
Qualifications for the Assistant Management Accountant
- Part qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA or AAT
