As a Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical) / Gas Trial Engineer, you’ll be right at the centre of delivering complex and critical engineering activity that helps shape the future of liquefied gas transportation. This is an exciting opportunity to work on LPG and LNG carrier projects during their final construction stages—bringing advanced cargo handling systems to life, ensuring their safe operation, and supporting gas trials on board vessels.

Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:
- Plan, perform and manage commissioning activities for cargo handling plant equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner.

- Attend vessels during gas trials and first voyages, liaising closely with clients to coordinate activities.
- Provide hands-on technical support to shipyard colleagues and onboard commissioning teams.
- Support and guide the Gas Trial team, including leading Health and Safety inductions under the direction of Head Office.
This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, based at Mokpo Shipyard, South Korea. Hybrid working patterns are available, and the role requires frequent travel to other sites and vessels during gas trials, first voyages and dry-docking activities.
Essential experience of the Commissioning Engineer - Gas Trial Engineer:
- Previous hands-on experience with Liquefied Gas Tanker Cargo Operations, including at least five years at sea.
- Strong technical competence, ideally with experience working on refrigeration or LPG / LNG cargo-related machinery.
- Practical experience in engineering environments involving rotating machinery, hydraulics or cryogenic systems.
- Clear, confident communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced shipyard environment.
Qualifications for the Commissioning Engineer - Gas Trial Engineer:
