Support Critical Airside Activity at RAF Northolt

As an Air Movements Operative, you’ll be a vital member of the Movements Team, working directly with Royal Air Force personnel to support safe, efficient and professional airside operations. You’ll coordinate freight and baggage handling, support VIP movements, and play a key role in ensuring day‑to‑day military aviation activity runs smoothly.
You’ll engage confidently with RAF stakeholders, assist Babcock colleagues and external contractors, and uphold high standards of customer service and safety within a fast‑moving airside environment.
Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:
- Coordinate and support the safe movement of freight and baggage on and off aircraft and loading platforms.
- Assist RAF personnel with VIP escorting duties and high‑priority passenger movements.
- Work closely with RAF Movements staff, supporting a variety of operational tasks as needed.
- Engage directly with RAF stakeholders and external contractors to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Provide excellent customer service and represent Babcock professionally in all airside interactions.
This is a full‑time, permanent, onsite role working 37.5 hours per week at RAF Northolt.
Essential experience of the Air Movements Operative:
- Strong face‑to‑face stakeholder engagement experience.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate confidently and diplomatically.
- Ability to operate forklifts (training provided) — must hold a clean manual driving licence.
- Good understanding of health and safety practices.
Qualifications for the Air Movements Operative:
- Manual driving licence.
- Good standard of written and verbal English and Maths.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
