The SDP Security Specialist role is based within Marine Engineering & Systems.

At our site in Rosyth, we aim to deliver engineering-led and world-leading products and services across our engineering, specialised manufacturing, gas handling systems and naval marine businesses


The role


The difference our new SDP Security Specialist will make

As an SDP Security Specialist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Assuming the role of organisation main point of contact with Defence Nuclear Security Regulator (DNSyR) and the nominated site inspector


Day to day, you’ll develop maintenance of RRDL & MOD security documentation regarding compliance with Security regulation conditions, help with the emergency Response Demonstration planning and direction. The role involves establishing, planning, and managing an annual site nuclear security response demonstration exercise to regulatory authorities. This involves liaison with blue light services and regulators to agree adequacy of plan and success criteria for all participants. You will support the MOD submarine dismantling team to ensure that appropriate security arrangements are in place to manage the seven laid-up submarines on the Authorised Site within RRDL, Provide the focal point for any security issues raised under the Submarine Dismantling Project (SDP) including whole boat disposal and provide guidance to Company, MoD, tenants, and visitors on how regulatory standards in security are to be met.

Essential experience


•    Nuclear Accident Procedures Course (NAPC).

 Key Technical Skills
•    Relevant recent experience in the security field.
•    Extensive experience of implementing, advising, or regulating security arrangements.

 Company/Industry Knowledge:
•    2-3 Years operating in a management position with responsibility for Security.
•    Knowledge and experience of the regulatory standards expected on a nuclear licensed site as regards security issues.
