The role
The ERP Software Developer will play a critical role in the ongoing development and innovation of our in-house bespoke ERP system, CENTRAL. This role requires a collaborative approach with the company’s business analysts to ensure that the system effectively fulfills the business requirements in a timely and risk-averse manner. The role entails supporting both the existing platform and future-proofing our operations by transitioning to a web-based architecture.

Day to day will:

• Support ERP System Development: Develop and maintain the current ERP system, CENTRAL, using .NET Framework and WINFORMS.
• Work with business analysts to understand, document, and fulfill business needs seamlessly.
• Assist in a stage-wise transition from the existing platform to a web-based platform, ensuring continuity and minimum disruption.
• Take an active role in the CENTRAL development group.
• Ensure thorough consideration and testing of any changes or upgrades before implementation in the live system.
• Participate in Risk Reviews, Stage-gates, and design reviews, providing technical guidance and gaining approvals as needed.
• Engage in continuous learning activities to remain proficient and up-to-date in strategic areas.

This role is full time, Monday to Friday and is based at our Rosyth site, with hybrid working arrangements- 2 days in the office, 3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Software Developer:

• Proven experience in working with .NET Framework and WINFORMS.
• Strong understanding and experience in software development, particularly in ERP systems.
• Ability to manage risk and participate in comprehensive risk management activities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a focus on collaboration.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
   

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) / Developed Vetting (DV) / Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role.
