The role
As a HSE Advisor you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will make a real difference, working in a diverse and complex industrial environment, advising all levels of the business on HSE matters in support of strategically significant national projects, your work will help ensure all employees go home safely every day.

 

Day to day, you’ll assist the HS&E manager in maximising the utilisation of all the safety and environmental practitioner resource.
You will also be responsible for the following: 

  • Implementation of the Company Safety, Quality and Environmental policies in the HS&E area of the business ensuring that assessments of risks are carried out which lead to safe working attitudes and practices.
  • Maintain and continually develop the Babcock Marine – Rosyth Safety Management System to ensure it is comprehensive and up to date with legislative requirements and business needs.
  • Support the review of Health, Safety and Environmental policies/processes/standards.
  • Provide professional advice and support to the operational areas regarding practical application of safety processes and proactive safety approach.
  • Undertake workplace inspections to identify hazards, determine ways of reducing risks, ensure adherence to risk assessment and best practice.

 

This role is full time 37 hours per week and will be based on site at Rosyth. 

 

Essential experience of the HSE Advisor:

  • Proven experience in the field of Occupational Health Safety and Environmental Management.

 

Qualifications for the HSE Advisor:

  • Minimum HNC or equivalent in relevant discipline 
  • Successfully achieved training in Occupational Health and Safety Management, working towards NEBOSH or BSC Diploma level or equivalent (such as NVQ level 5 etc)
  • ISO 18001 or ISO45001 internal or lead auditor training would be desirable. 


The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
