The role
The Assistant Buyer position involves establishing and maintaining a good working relationship with both our internal and external customers.

 

Day to day the Assistant Buyer will have end to end responsibility within the procurement process from sourcing new suppliers through ordering, delivery and sign off of the final invoice. This involves preparing RFQs, reviewing and analysing quotations, issuing orders, receiving order acknowledgments, expediting, sending shipping instructions and approval of final invoices – mainly for assigned suppliers and/or warranty, aftersales and site orders.

 

You will also:

  • Demonstrate ability to react quickly to operational demands, ensuring the tasks are completed to a high standard and maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.  
  • Anticipate and mitigate any operational issues, so have good problem-solving abilities to find the best solution, including the confidence to escalate as necessary.

 

This role is full time, Monday to Friday and is based in Rosyth with hybrid working arrangements - 2 days in the office, 3 days working from home. 

 

Essential experience of the Assistant Buyer
Whilst no experience is necessary it’s essential for the successful candidate to be able to manage an individually assigned workload and remain flexible and work together with the rest of the procurement team as required.  Significant on-the-job training will be provided and there are further opportunities for formal training.
