The role
As an Apprenticeship Assessor (Vehicle Mechanic) , you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. We play a vital role in the security of the nation, supporting the equipment used by the British Army. This includes the fleet management of over 50,000 vehicles, ranging from quad bikes and generators to main battle tanks, and weapons from pistols to cannons.


Day to day, you’ll visit vehicle mechanic learners within their workplace using your vocational experience and knowledge to deliver learning, coach, assess and support them to achieve their apprenticeship.

 

Support, motivate and coach all learners through their apprenticeship programme, ensuring all components of the apprenticeship programme are completed in a timely manner whilst meeting awarding organisation, ESFA and Ofsted requirements 

  • Monitor and review learners inline with the customers expectations 
  • Ensure all required documentation is completed to the correct standard and within agreed timelines 
  • Provide portfolio building advice and guidance to learners based on the requirements of their programme 
  • Effectively record, plan and track individual learner progress in accordance with agreed paperwork and reporting processes

 

This role is a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract - 35 weekly hours and will be based fully remote. There is a requirement to travel to locations includingbut not limited to Folkstone, Maidstone, Southampton, Chichester, Aldershot, Windsor and Sandhurst.

Essential experience of the Apprenticeship Assessor (Vehicle Mechanic):

  • Considerable experience in the vehicle mechanic field
  • Good understanding of work-based learning programmes
  • Previous experience in the defence sector, ideally within the army arena (desired not essential)                                                                                                                                                               


Qualifications for the Apprenticeship Assessor (Vehicle Mechanic):

  • Relevant industry related qualification (Vehicle Mechanic minimum of Level 3)
  • Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (desirable) 
  • Award / Certificate in Education & Training (or equivalent) 
  • Maths and English – GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent)

  • The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role as well as Enhanced DBS and Child Barring Service (EDBSCBL).
