At Babcock we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Proposal Writer.

The role
As a Proposal Writer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be a critical part of the wider Bid Team, helping us submit compelling, high-scoring, compliant responses that make it easy for customers to appoint Babcock. You will be empowered to ask challenging, probing questions on every opportunity and work with skilled subject matter experts to deliver quality outputs in line with recognised best practice.

Day-to-day, you’ll focus on working closely with subject matter experts to storyboard, draft, and finalise quality written responses and submission documents across a range of strategic, technical, and complex bids.

  • Facilitate the storyboarding process of proposal documents, producing compelling, compliant, and impactful storyboards and mock-ups that effectively incorporate defined win themes
  • Work with subject matter experts (SMEs), who will act as content owners, to develop ‘bottom-up’ bid content using various techniques, including one-to-one interviews and workshops
  • Ensure mock-ups and response documents clearly articulate both features and benefits, and how this translates into value for the customer
  • Work with SMEs to turn technical jargon and ambiguous language in to clear, concise, and tangible content
  • Ensure written proposals align to the requirements and guiding policy set by the proposal strategy

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and requires travel as and when required across the UK to support bids alongside home working arrangements.
