The role
As a Project Controls Lead, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The Project Controls Lead is based within Digital Solutions in our Babcock Naval Nuclear business. You will form part of an amazing, diverse, and inclusive team of talented people that provide specialist knowledge management and technical expertise on a range of interesting products, technologies and collaborative solutions that support both our internal and external Royal Navy customers.
Day to day, you’ll be responsible for enhancing the performance of the PMO by continuously maturing the services and process of the project controls function.
- You will facilitate project controls, metric production, quality and governance checks and delivery of performance statistics.
- You will lead and have line management responsibilities for up to 3 team members.
- You will work with stakeholders at all levels providing guidance and expertise in the specified field to deliver Project outputs.
- Monitor all deliverables to ensure that we are delivering our contracts requirements.
- You will hold senior team members to account, to ensure that all aspects of Project Controls are being recording accurately.
Essential experience of the Project Controls Lead,
- Excellent communication skills
- Significant experience of project control’s function and best practice application
- Experience in establishing and maintaining governance arrangements
- Providing effective leadership to project support teams
- Comprehensive Experience of applying project controls in a changing environment on a variety of projects.
- An understanding of ISO standards and their application.
This is a full-time position at 36 hours per week, with hybrid working from our Bristol or Leicester office. There is a minumum requirement within the business area for at least 2 days per week however, will be contracted to 5 and may have to be flexible in your approach to hybrid working depending on the security classification you are working on.
Qualifications for the Project Controls Lead,
- Hold or be willing to gain a Prince 2 or APM qualification.
- Educated to degree level or holds a relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC (UK Eyes Only) security clearance level for this role.
