The role

As a Senior Warehouse and Logistics Operative, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring equipment, assets and materials are stored, tested, and moved safely and efficiently. Your work will directly contribute to critical defence and engineering programmes that help protect people and infrastructure across the UK. Day-to-day, you’ll:

 

  • Safely store items in the store, requiring manual handling of items, and conducting general stores support tasks as directed by the Service Manager.
  • Maintain relevant records in the asset management tool, whilst conducting storage racking inspections and the collection/delivery of items.
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner always to ensure that all activities undertaken are in compliance with relevant QMS processes and carry out work within their skill set or ability as directed by the Services Manager.
  • Maintain an adequate knowledge of and compliance with the Health and Safety policy and regulations consistent with their responsibilities.
  • Be responsible for carrying out portable appliance testing on relevant assets within a 150-mile radius of usual place of work.

 

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site working 3 days a week stores initially and 2 days per week PAT electrical testing.

 

Essential experience of the Senior Warehouse and Logistics Operative

  • Demonstrate an adequate knowledge of and compliance with the Health and Safety policy and regulations consistent with their responsibilities as General Support (Stores).
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with fellow stores team members, clients and superiors.
  • Demonstration of general stores skills.
  • Relevant, practical experience in a related environment.

 

Qualifications for the Senior Warehouse and Logistics Operative

  • City & Guilds 2377-22 Portable Appliance Testing (PAT).
  • Must possess, or be willing to obtain a Forklift driving license.
  • Possess a full, UK Driving Licence.

 

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role.  Must be a Sole UK National.
