The role

 

As a Weapons Engineer Instructor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll act as a mentor and instructor for Royal Saudi Naval Forces students within the Hunter Project based primarily at HMS Collingwood.

 

Day to day, you’ll work with Royal Saudi Naval recruits to train them in Weapons engineering. 

 

•    Design, develop and prepare WE trade training modules for RSNF students including Weapons and Sensors specialisations
•    To instruct Officers and Ratings of the RSNF on Sandown/Al Jawf Class ship equipment & systems 
•    Prepare ISPECs and lesson plans for BMTL delivered courses on WE related Sandown/Al Jawf Class equipment and instruct where required
•    To design and develop student hand-out notes to accompany the WE training syllabus where required
•    Develop a good understanding of the whole ship environment of the Sandown/ Al Jawf Class with particular emphasis on safe methods of operating all weapon engineering systems and equipment
•    Support/mentor students on UK and foreign manufacturers courses in support of training as and when required
•    Prepare and conduct RSNF new joiners briefs for each batch of WE new student arrivals into HMS Collingwood
•    Support the WE Course Manager and MW Instructor in all operator, Minewarfare and diving training delivered within their area.
•    Support the Training Manager as directed with the delivery of all students training to ensure the training plan is delivered within the Statement of Work


Essential experience of the Weapons Engineer Instructor,

 

•    Experience in Sandown/Al Jawf Class WE equipment and procedures
•    Technical appreciation of naval training and the naval training environment
•    MS Office literate to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint

 

Qualifications for the Weapons Engineer Instructor,

 

•    Experienced in instructional techniques to Level 3 or above


The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
