The Team
You will be joining a family of data experts and work together to develop data warehouse solutions against business requirements across the Babcock Data Platforms.
You will receive hands on training and on-going mentorship to provide you with the fundamentals to further your career from the offset, with a clear career path on how to achieve your goals. Outside of this, you will get the opportunity to attend relevant events and access courses to expand your knowledge in the following: SAP, Palantir Foundry, Python, SQL and more.
The Role
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for developing, managing and controlling data sourcing solutions based on Microsoft’s SQL Server Data and BI Platforms.
Day to day you will also…
• Develop and maintain data warehouses.
• Highlight issues, provide estimates, and deliver progress reports to project managers and team leader.
• Attend daily stand-ups.
• Support the development and delivery of high-quality corporate data assets using relevant toolsets.
• Gather requirements for new data sets and implement solutions.
• Work with IT and business stakeholders to identify and define the business problems and business case and express the change within the business strategy and BI Roadmap.
Essential experience of the Senior Data Engineer
• Proven experience with Data Warehousing and SQL
• Extremely self-motivated to learn and ramp up on emerging technologies and tools
• Experience of working in technical teams with large enterprise class systems
• Aptitude to work collaboratively across IT and non-IT departments
