About the role

Here at Babcock we’re looking to recruit a Head of Shared Service – Finance Operations. This role reporting to the Shared Service Centre (SSC) Director and will be responsible for driving and developing the Accounts Payable, Cashiers, Credit Control and Travel & Expense management processes predominately in our SAP ERP solution. The role will take responsibility for leading the day to day management of the teams (4 direct and 30 indirect reports). The range of services supported will evolve as the SSC develops and the delivery of these services will need to be made operational and then maintained, monitored and improved under business as usual. The role therefore requires an individual with significant exposure to a change oriented environment within the payables and treasury space.

What do I need to do the role?

You’ll need to be an experienced Finance Operations Manager with cross functional for a large and varied customer base and exposure to a shared services environment. You’ll also need to have experience of delivering within a SAP environment, Project Experience in leading and managing large teams preferably within a Shared Services or customer services environment

 

Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:

  • Develop the roadmap for the Finance operations team that defines the future processes within the SSC organisation
  • Maintain appropriate standards for finance operational reporting e.g. GRNI reporting, prompt payment code etc.
  • Embed all required controls and procedures and ensure that all of the process artefacts are well documented and maintained to the highest standards
  • Agree, monitor and maintain a set of service definitions KPI’s and associated SLA’s for Fin Ops end to end processes and deliver customer improvements
  • Manage the operations in line with the agreed budget and ensure committed cost savings are delivered.
  • Internal and/or external audit requirements
  • Manage the development and training of the team

 

What else do I need to know?

  • The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role and will also need to complete a medical assessment
