The role

As an Equipment Maintainer, you'll have a role that is out of the ordinary. You'll play a vital role in ensuring our Naval personnel receive the highest quality training by maintaining engineering equipment, building systems and machinery. Your work will be essential to our mission.

 

Day to day, your tasks will vary, from troubleshooting machinery breakdowns to ensuring the cleanliness of our facilities:

 

  • Maintain and prepare marine engineering equipment and machinery used for training and instruction, ensuring it's ready for use.
  • Diagnose and carry out small work defect rectification as directed, to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Support the administrative operation of the front office, and assist with the reception of visitors, as required.
  • Issue tools and equipment as needed for training purposes and provide logistical support / technical assistance to training staff.
  • Maintain a clean working environment and conduct routine building maintenance tasks, including pressure washing and painting.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring the building, equipment and procedures are compliant with current Health & Safety regulations.

 

This role is full time, 37 hours per week, and is based on site at HMS Sultan in Gosport.

 

Essential experience of the Equipment Maintainer

  • Experience of maintenance, fault finding and reporting in a building environment.
  • IT literate with proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to manipulate Excel data accordingly and to present statistical information.
  • Awareness of First Aid / Fire & Risk Assessments. Full training will be provided.
  • IOSH Working safely certificate (desirable)

 

Qualifications for the Equipment Maintainer

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
