Our Information and Technology Security function within Babcock Corporate Services caters to cyber security aspects in a range of sectors from defence to civil nuclear. One main focus of this function is coordinating assurance and managing accreditation activities across Babcock.  


The role
As a Cyber Security Assurance Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Using your developed IT technical skills, you will deal with high-stakes risk, strict regulations, and advanced threats. 


Day-to-day, you’ll guide information asset owners on how to manage their assets and use IT services to support business operations. You’ll also engage with external stakeholders to align their expectations for information asset management with your organization's practices. Additionally, you will:

 

  • Liaise with the greater Babcock Security community to provide information assurance support with the objective to standardise practice and approach across Babcock as a whole.
  • Conduct risk assessments against information management strategies 
  • Coordinate responses, and gather evidence of compliance against contractual and statutory requirements related to the management of information, to be presented to various assessing bodies

 

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week, offering flexitime, and is predominantly remote based. There will be a expectation to be onsite at our site in either: Bristol, Portsmouth, or Devonport typically once a month, however, there may be occasions where this may increase due to project requirements. 


Essential experience of the Cyber Security Assurance Manager

 

  • IT Technical skills
  • Experienced working in an assurance or related role
  • Ability to understand and interpret security policies and standards
  • Practical understanding of Data Protection and legislations

 

Qualifications for the Cyber Security Assurance Manager

 

  • It is ideal, but not essential, for you to have CISSP/CISM or other Security/IA qualifications

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
