Overall Department Direction
The Site Infrastructure Procurement Team forms part of the Procurement and Supply Chain function within the Naval Nuclear sector of Babcock International Group. The team supports the delivery of extensive and diverse infrastructure upgrades and improvements across the entire Devonport Site and beyond. A significant, recent commitment to invest in site improvement necessitates expansion of the existing core team to accommodate delivery
 

Main Purpose of Role
The Project Procurement Specialist will be responsible for providing commercial and procurement support into a variety of projects. Reporting into the Programme Procurement Manager, the role will ensure effective application of procurement processes in both pre and post-contract activities.
 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competences
• An experienced procurement/commercial practitioner
• Demonstrable experience in effectively managing a variety of sub-contracts
• A good understanding of procurement and commercial best practice
• Able to build strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders
• A good understanding of contract terms and conditions
• Track record of effective supplier relationship management
• Evidence of effective problem solving
 

Qualifications
Working towards degree level (or equivalent) including MCIPS.
 

Grade
This position is within the Central Services business unit as a Grade 5 which has a salary of £36,525 with DRDL Terms and Conditions.

Location
This role is based at Devonport Royal Dockyard which is located in Plymouth, Devon in the south west of England.

Business Area- Devonport
Babcock International Group owns and operates the main refit, maintenance and workshop area of the 330 acre naval site at Devonport, known as Devonport Royal Dockyard, where it employs thousands of people.
