The Project Manager role is based within our Devonport Royal Dockyard business area.

Comprising of 14 dry docks, four miles of waterfront and 25 tidal berths, Devonport is the base for numerous surface vessels as well as the base and refit centre for the Trafalgar-class nuclear-powered submarines. Devonport has also recently been selected as the base port for the Navy’s new Type 26 frigates and will become the maintenance centre for the future submarine programme.

The role

The difference our new Project Manager
will make

As a Project Manager you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will manage a suite of projects across the Devonport site for all aspects of the infrastructure upgrades currently occurring on site.  This includes updating programmes and financially managing each project at all stages of its process.

 

Day to day, you’ll be liaising with various teams on site to organise and manage the delivery of infrastructure upgrades to the electrics on site. You will manage the time scale and quality of various projects, ensuring that all work is completed in accordance with regulations.

 

Your new role will require you to be a strong communicator and team player, with adept social skills. You will produce monthly reports on the budget.

Essential experience
 

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Previous experience in Project Management
  • Social personality with strong communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages

 

Desirable

 

  • Awareness of CDM rules and regulations
  • Background in Electrical Engineering role
  • HNC in Engineering
