There are a number of Project Delivery and Design Authority roles positions available within the programme which will focus on the design of the maintenance facilities and systems. These roles require the capability to lead and undertake design in the mechanical handling discipline, understand the design intent of the mechanical handling systems, understand how the design intent is met, and obtain the required knowledge to maintain the design intent.

As a Mechanical Process Principal System Engineer lead the planning and execution of design activities from a mechanical process systems discipline perspective; provide mechanical process systems, including radiological, expertise within the Major Infrastructure Projects (MIP) Design Authority at Devonport; oversee mechanical process system design development, definition of system requirements and system configuration management.

What do I need to be able to do the role?

  • Detailed knowledge of relevant engineering computer applications associated with mechanical process engineering
  • Understanding of configuration management
  • Understanding of systems engineering application as relevant to mechanical process discipline

Lastly, you’ll have strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to interface effectively with internal and external stakeholders and sub-contractors.

What else do I need to know?
The successful candidate will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving ‘Security Check’ (SC) clearance.
