The Change Controller role is based within our Devonport Royal Dockyard business area.

Comprising of 14 dry docks, four miles of waterfront and 25 tidal berths, Devonport is the base for numerous surface vessels as well as the base and refit centre for the Trafalgar-class nuclear-powered submarines. Devonport has also recently been selected as the base port for the Navy’s new Type 26 frigates and will become the maintenance centre for the future submarine programme.

The role


The difference our new Change Controller will make
As a Change Controller, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary where you will be part of an exciting transformation across our project management and project controls function, driving world class project delivery performance. Day to day, you’ll focus on reporting and control of project changes, control of changes and resolution of issues preventing progress, monitoring and capturing changes to ensure your impact can be assessed against the project agreed scope of work and also focus on LUSM (Laid Up Submarines) disposal projects.

Essential experience
•    Awareness of project planning and execution is desirable (similar industry experience will be considered).
•    Excellent communication skills.
•    Good organisation skills
•    Self-motivated & is comfortable with detailed information
•    You will preferably have ONC level (or equivalent) in an engineering, Technical or Technology related subject. Or have relevant transferable engineering background or skills, or experience related to naval vessels/submarines, which will enable you to meet the requirements of the role

 •    The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
