The DRDL site is currently undergoing a multimillion-pound infrastructure re-generation programme. As such, a key element of your role will be in the supporting of the Major Infrastructure Projects Team. As an Assistant Company Fire Officer, you will be working within the ‘sensitive defence contracts environment’, for Babcock International at their base in Plymouth known as DRDL.


Who we are looking for?

We are looking for an Assistant Company Fire Office to protect people and assets from injury and loss caused by fire or accident. You will also be reducing the reputational or financial loss and the protection of information and assets in the workplace and providing an outstanding service ensuring the team's operational success and service delivery.


What will you be doing?
•    Maintain effective working relationships with the enforcing authorities and assist in the management of fire inspections, audit visits and the development of action plans.
•    Establish effective communication systems and working relationships that engage managers, staff and their representatives in Fire Safety. 
•    Demonstrate skills in persuasion, motivation, influence and negotiation.
•    Demonstrate resilience and tenacity, with the strength to push back if necessary.
•    There may be instances where there are requirements to work in challenging environment, including but not limited to work at height, confined spaces.

The experience you’ll bring 
•    NEBOSH National General Certificate.
•    NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management or equivalent
•    A demonstrable work history within the Construction Industry in a Fire Safety Role. 
•    Knowledge of the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order 2005.
•    A working knowledge of Part B or the Building Regulations (Fire Safety) and BS999 2017
Fire safety in the design, management and use of buildings. Code of practice. 
•    Fire Safety Act 2021 (Future building safety regulations)
•    You will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving ‘Security Check’ (SC) clearance.
