In this role, you will:

  • Provides guidance and expertise for the advancement and support of the strategic and operational risk management practice throughout the organization and ensures alignment with organizational objectives
  • Directs quality, health, safety and environmental initiatives that accomplish continuous improvement and enhancement to the Business Management System in conjunction with various Babcock International Group for business units (Marine, Aviation and Nuclear).
  • Builds relationships internally within, cross functional teams and the Executive team.
  • Developing operational plans and road maps that align to the Company strategic objectives and timelines
  • Monitors and analyzes risks at a strategic level and prepares reports for the Executive Committee
  • Manage and provide guidance on the Internal Audit program including, Development of plans, conduct of audits, generation and review of reports, inputs/updates to the database, and qualification of internal auditors.
  • Monitors, Analysis, assess and drive improvement based on the Quality, Health Safety and Environmental Dashboard for Internal
  • Provide support and direction on development of processes to enable more efficient and high-quality delivery of Babcock operations.
  • Develops and strengthens tools and processes to identify, analyze, document and communicate strategic and operational risks, including the development of training and education modules, maintaining and improving the Risk SharePoint site and facilitating risk discussions and workshops
  • Participates as a project team member to support the risk assessment of cross-functional projects and/or change initiatives, including participation in the Project Review Board
  • Oversees and monitors all operational risk management resources and activities of the organization related to Quality, Environment and Health and Safety.
  • Other duties as assigned


The ideal candidate brings:


  • Minimum of 10 years’ senior level experience in Quality Assurance and/or Corporate Risk in the Marine, Aviation and/or Nuclear sectors.
  • A degree in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategic and/or operational plans
  • You hold a Quality Manager certification under IRCA, ASQ or equivalent, qualification or experience in Change Management, Business Analysis, Business Efficiency or Facilitation as an asset.
  • You have experience in the management of projects; in ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001, 31000 and CSA 299 and CSA 286 systems as an asset.
  • Political acumen, excellent written and verbal communication skills including creating and delivering presentations, workshops and educational modules
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, experience with SharePoint preferred
  • Strong leadership, consulting and collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships and facilitate consensus
  • Strong work ethic, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, meaning that you must have received the full series of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by the Government of Canada with the final dose at least 14 days prior to your start date
  • You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
