In this role, you will:

 

  • Lead, coordinate, integrate and manage the VISSC II capture team such that resources of appropriate quality (people, financial or assets) are identified, and developed to meet capture objectives and strategic direction, standards and requirements.
  • Lead the development of capture plans and approaches, and ensure these are implemented effectively for Babcock Canada such that resources are in place to deploy the business strategy and deliver business development targets and objectives over each planning cycle.
  • Establish and lead relationships as well as negotiations with the Government of Canada through industry consultations, 1-on1s and stakeholder meetings.
  • Evaluate and manage strategic initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures to support a successful VISSC II bid.
  • Support engagement with existing business operational units and facilitate strong networks among business’, sites and to create tangible synergies and to support the VISSC II bid activities.
  • Build and enhance external networks with governments and other stakeholders for the benefit of the bid.
  • Support the development and implementations of marketing campaigns, events, PR, etc. locally and regionally, related to the VISSC II pursuit.
  • Lead and develop proposals, negotiations and presentations for the bid development, bid approvals and submission.
  • Other duties as necessary.

 

As our ideal candidate,

 

  • You hold a post-secondary degree in a technical/design discipline with a sound knowledge of bid activities;
  • A minimum of 15 years’ related program and project management work experience;
  • Significant experience in leading engagements with internal and external stakeholders related to capture activities;
  • Proficient in the application of project management principles, tools and how they are utilised throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Must be conversant with equipment sustainment contracting, latest trends and direction in Defence procurement;
  • Experience within a Defence based Project environment;
  • Significant and recent experience within bid development and bid management on large defence contracts;
  • Effective communication skills are essential;
  • Knowledge and experience on naval and/or submarine systems is an asset;
  • You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance.
