Bid Director (Full Time- Permanent)

In this role, you will:

 

  • Develop winning bid strategies, value propositions and the overall technical, commercial and financial solutions
  • Lead, coordinate, integrate and manage the Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) capture team such that resources of appropriate quality (people, financial or assets) are identified, and developed to meet capture objectives and strategic direction, standards and requirements
  • Work with Business Development team to evolve initial capture planning data into fully analysed solution outputs. Ensure voice of the customer is reflected throughout our proposal outputs
  • Ensure the strategy mission, vision and values of the organisation are articulated and understood by colleagues
  • Lead the bid through governance steps including project boards, win boards and gate reviews and ensure compliance with delegation of authority
  • Establish and lead relationships as well as negotiations with the Government of Canada through industry consultations, one-on-ones and stakeholder meetings

 

Prepare Babcock for transition on contract award:

 

  • Lead the development of capture plans and approaches, and ensure these are implemented effectively for Babcock Canada such that resources are in place to deploy the business strategy and deliver business development targets and objectives over each planning cycle
  • Evaluate and manage strategic initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures to support a successful bid
  • Support engagement with existing business operational units and facilitate strong networks among business’, sites and to create tangible synergies and to support contract activities
  • Build and enhance external networks with governments and other stakeholders for the benefit of the contract
  • Support the development and implementations of marketing campaigns, events, PR, etc. locally and regionally, related to the FAcT contract
  • Other duties as necessary.

 

Our ideal candidate brings:

 

  • You hold a post-secondary degree in a technical/design discipline with expert level knowledge of bid activities
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years’ of program management experience, with a strong focus on gaining new business and program delivery
  • Demonstrable track record of winning major bids, with minimum seven (7) years’ of recent experience working on RFPs
  • Experience in bids for complex military flying training solutions programs at a national scale would be considered an asset
  • Knowledgeable in equipment sustainment contracting, latest trends and direction in Defence procurement would be considered an asset
  • Sound understanding of partnering and alliancing between government, and private industry
  • Ability to motivate and lead these large, multi-functional teams
  • Ability to build and maintain close-working relationships and networks at a senior level
  • You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance.
