Babcock Military Air, one of the world’s leading providers of military flying training, is further expanding its operations, and is now building a team capable of pursuing emerging strategic opportunities. We are seeking to recruit an Aircraft Certification and Compliance Manager, based in our Ottawa, ON office. This is a full time, fixed term contract with an initial period of 12 months and will report to the Solution Architect.

 

The principal tasks and responsibilities include:

 

  • Responsible for recommending compliant fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft military certification plans and schedules to ensure the timely release to service in accordance with the respective training pipeline plans
  • Drafting and managing all necessary Maintenance Organisation Expositions (MOE)
  • Scoping and drafting all necessary service and training approvals
  • Accountable for all regulatory compliance
  • Responsible for sourcing satisfactory and timely flying training organization approvals
  • Responsible for the Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) Air Safety Management System (ASMS) definition
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all infrastructure regulations as these pertain to the maintenance and rectification of aircraft
  • Responsible for sourcing all maintenance related MT requirements
  • Collaborating fully with the training pipeline managers and procurement managers in the discussions with aircraft Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)
     

Job qualifications and requirements include:

 

  • Eligible for a Canadian Secret Security clearance
  • Leadership experience in the safe, compliant and profitable management of military aircraft and equipment support services.
  • Leadership experience in the technical management of aircraft maintenance engineering, air safety management and continuing airworthiness.
  • Excellent knowledge of the role and responsibilities of a Design Organization and Type Certificate Holder
  • Excellent knowledge of the aviation regulatory and compliance frameworks for the provision of services to contracted military aviation services
  • Thorough knowledge of Transport Canada and Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) regulations for all aspects of aircraft maintenance, certification, airfield operations and flying operations
  • Strong understanding of integrated logistics support and the generation of optimal, cost-comparative operating models and support solutions
  • Educated to degree level in an engineering discipline; minimum of Professional Engineering designation or equivalent.
