The role

As a Motor Transport Driver, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary, driving anything from a standard people carrier to a 53-seater coach and everything in-between.  

Day to day, you’ll be shuttling our RAF customers from the base in Cranwell to various locations in the UK.

• Mostly short journeys, option to do over-night stays for longer journeys (expenses paid)
• Ensure all vehicle faults are reported promptly.
• Loading/unloading and restraint of loads; assist with the maintenance and husbandry of the MT yard, compounds, and vehicles.

Essential experience of the Motor Transport Driver,

• Previous experience in mechanical transport and logistics
• Experience with driving hours and tachographs 
• Familiar with vehicle inspections 

This role is 39 hours per week 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday.

Qualifications for the Motor Transport Driver,

• Clean Driving Licence – Cat B and D required
• Licence Category – Cat C Desirable
• Driver CPC qualification essential, this must be obtained before the start date 
• Tachograph Card – Essential
• Tachograph experience – Desirable, can be trained on the initial arrival week

The successful candidate must be able to achieve BPSS security clearance level for this role.
