The role
As a Supply Chain Specialist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is your chance to support the development and operation of key military training estate with unique construction and facilities project on multiple estates filled with history. This is a role which provides a springboard to other more senior opportunities within a diverse business.

Day-to-day, you’ll will cover end-to-end, source to contract activity which offers wide variety across the different areas of responsibility. This requires the successful candidate to be a versatile all-rounder, who can adapt their style with ease and deliver effectively in a demanding, multi-faceted environment. The Land Training Business Unit is a leading provider of training and support activities across the military and emergency services.


  • Collaborating with operational teams and subject matter experts to build robust statements of requirement and proposed solutions
  • Detailed market scanning and analysis to identify suitable supply chain partners
  • Post contract management ensuring the terms of a contract are adhered to with regards to cost
  • Managing, maintaining, and completing due diligence against all vendors
  • Supporting key projects to improve the support and value that is delivered to the business


This position involves travel/working across a range of internal and customer sites, as a requirement of the role.


This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 or 3 days in the office/onsite and other days working from home.

Essential experience of the Supply Chain Specialist:

  • Contract or commercial supply chain experience 
  • Experience with stakeholder management 
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to prioritise and schedule their workload appropriately
  • Experience in preparation of documentation and reports using Microsoft Office

Qualifications for the Supply Chain Specialist:

  • CIPS is desirable or aspiration to obtain
  • Full UK driving licence

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
