The role

As a Stores Operative, you'll play a key role in supporting training operations by ensuring equipment, stores and supplies are available when needed. This is a varied, hands-on position that combines stock control and customer service responsibilities with deliveries across the estate. You'll be part of a supportive team, helping to maintain smooth operations while developing valuable logistics, inventory and warehousing experience.

Day-to-day, you will be:

Issuing stores items and equipment to customers and maintaining accurate records.
Maintaining inventory levels, completing stock checks and supporting audits.
Updating paperwork and computer systems relating to stores accounts and inventory management.
Delivering equipment and supplies across the estate using company vehicles.
Moving equipment and furniture while ensuring stores areas remain clean, organised and ready for use.

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role. The successful candidate will also be required to drive.

This is a full-time, site-based role at RSME, Chatham.

Working hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00am – 4:30pm and Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm.

Essential experience of the Stores Operative:

Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work in a physically active role involving manual handling activities.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Qualifications for the Stores Operative:

Full UK Driving Licence.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
