The role

As a Fleet Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating fleet resources, managing drivers and ensuring contractual commitments are delivered safely, efficiently and compliantly. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you'll play a key role in maintaining operational performance while supporting a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence.

 

Day-to-day you'll be required to:

  • Ensure all scheduled vehicles, equipment and personnel remain compliant and operationally ready
  • Manage and update fleet administration systems and transport records in line with company policies and DVSA Operator Licence requirements
  • Support and supervise a team of drivers to ensure contractual obligations are achieved
  • Maintain compliance with all health, safety and environmental requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and support contract objectives

 

The role is based onsite at Chatham, and the set working times are Monday to Friday, totalling 37 hours per week.

 

Essential experience of the Fleet Supervisor:

  • Solid working knowledge of current EU Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Regulations
  • Proven experience within transport, fleet or logistics operations environments
  • Experience delivering results in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and deadlines
  • Demonstrable people management and team leadership experience
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships

 

Qualifications for the Fleet Supervisor:

  • Experience working with multi-category fleets including passenger service vehicles, heavy goods vehicles and plant machinery
  • Full UK driving licence suitable for use in the United Kingdom with Passenger Service Vehicle licence as a minimum
  • Category D and D1 licence and Large Goods Vehicle Category C+E licence is desirable

 

 

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
