At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together. If you join us, you can play your part as a Finance Modeller.

The role
As a Finance Modeller, you’ll be at the heart of a transformative project, designing and delivering a robust financial model for a major Fire Training contract with 12 years remaining. This is a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact on public safety and operational excellence, while advancing your career in defence, aerospace and engineering.

You’ll collaborate with Future Business, Operational Finance, Commercial, and Senior Management teams to rebuild a model that underpins one of our longest-standing contracts. Your work will directly influence strategic decisions and ensure the continued success of a vital public service.

Day-to-day you’ll be:
•    Designing and developing a comprehensive financial model for the LFB contract
•    Liaising with finance and operational teams to ensure accuracy and compliance
•    Incorporating technical accounting advice and audit methodology into model design
•    Creating intuitive model navigation and clearly defined data flows
•    Ensuring the model supports strategic decision-making and long-term contract success

Please note that this position involves travel/working across a range of internal and customer sites, as a requirement of the role.

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract for 18 weeks. The role is home based with travel to LFB London sites,  Portsmouth, London, and Bristol as required. The set working times are Monday to Friday, totalling 37.5 hours per week.

Essential experience of the Finance Modeller:
•    Applying advanced Excel skills and modelling techniques
•    Building complex financial models for contracts and bids
•    Conducting model audit, validation, and verification processes
•    Presenting financial data clearly and concisely for stakeholder review
•    Meeting tight deadlines and delivering high-quality outputs

Qualifications for the Finance Modeller:
We value difference and don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and/or willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you. However, experience in financial modelling within large-scale contracts is highly advantageous.
